The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic diversions at Mehdipatnam due to ongoing skywalk construction work near Rythu Bazar and the bus stop. The diversions will be implemented during the intervening night of April 10 and 11, between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM, to facilitate construction activities and prevent congestion at the busy junction.
According to the official advisory, vehicles traveling from Masab Tank, NMDC, and Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital towards Rethibowli and Nanal Nagar will be diverted at PVNR Expressway Pillar Numbers 2 and 3 near Azizia Mosque. Commuters will need to take the alternate route via Meraj Café and make a right turn towards Mehdipatnam at Pillar Number 15, where they can rejoin their regular route.
The traffic police have requested commuters to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes during the specified six-hour window to avoid any inconvenience. The diversions are being put in place to ensure smooth execution of the skywalk construction work while minimizing disruption to regular traffic flow in the area.
Citizens have been advised to stay updated by following the Hyderabad Traffic Police social media platforms for real-time information and any changes to the diversion plan. In case of emergencies or queries, commuters can contact the traffic helpline at 9010203626 for assistance during the diversion period.
The skywalk construction project at Mehdipatnam is part of ongoing infrastructure development initiatives aimed at improving pedestrian safety and reducing traffic congestion in the busy commercial area. The construction work near the Rythu Bazar and bus stop requires temporary road closures during night hours to expedite the project completion.
The traffic advisory was issued by Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Hyderabad, D. Joel Davis, IPS, who appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities during the diversion period and follow traffic guidelines for everyone’s safety and convenience.
