Imaadi Ravi, the mastermind behind the illegal movie streaming platform iBomma, appeared in court once more on Wednesday. Hyderabad police presented him before the judge as part of their ongoing investigation.
The Cybercrime Police have issued a PT warrant against Ravi in a separate case. This marks another legal challenge for the website operator who has been at the center of multiple criminal investigations.
Nampally court ordered 14 days of judicial remand for Ravi in this latest case. Law enforcement officials have now registered five different cases against the accused individual.
Authorities have prepared PT warrants for three additional cases involving Ravi. Police plan to make arrests in these remaining cases once they receive proper court authorization.
The court has completed reviewing the police department’s request for custody of the defendant. Officials expect the judge to announce the final decision shortly.
ACP Srinivasulu revealed that Ravi possessed comprehensive information about every person who used iBomma to watch films. The five-day police custody period yielded crucial evidence about the website’s operations.
The investigating officer explained how the platform collected personal information from visitors. Users unknowingly shared their phone data with Ravi simply by clicking the “agree” button on the website.
iBomma displayed advertisements for betting applications before streaming any movie content. This practice generated additional revenue for the illegal operation.
Ravi actively promoted gambling apps through his platform. He acquired new movie releases by purchasing them through Telegram channels.
ACP Srinivasulu dismissed circulating rumors about Ravi’s personal life. The officer clarified that stories about his wife’s alleged infidelity are completely false and unrelated to the criminal charges.
