India Advances in Aerospace with High-Tech Materials

India is making big strides in aerospace and defence manufacturing by focusing on advanced materials. Scientists and engineers are developing next-generation alloys, hypersonic-resistant materials, and special coatings to improve the performance of aircraft and spacecraft. These innovations will be showcased at Aero India 2025, which starts in Bengaluru on Monday.

One of the key contributors to this effort is Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI). The company is working on superalloys for jet engines, corrosion-resistant coatings for aircraft, and lightweight metals for high-speed applications. A major breakthrough is Titanium Aluminide, a material that is both heat-resistant and lightweight. This makes it perfect for modern fighter jets and space missions.
