Hyderabad: Minister P Srinivasa Reddy reported a delay in the Indiramma housing scheme in the Sircilla Assembly Constituency. The delay occurred because BRS leader and local MLA KT Rama Rao did not provide a list of beneficiaries to officials.
The government introduced a rule allowing opposition MLAs to select 40% of the beneficiaries for Indiramma houses and submit these names to the Housing department. KTR did not comply with this directive, causing a halt in the official selection process. Local authorities are now instructed to finalize the list swiftly.
Across the state, 2.10 lakh beneficiaries have been identified so far. Minister Srinivasa Reddy condemned KTR's claims about ED raids at his home, insisting no such event occurred.
Reddy assured that the beneficiary list will be completed by June 10. He highlighted that 42,000 houses have been approved under a pilot project, with construction already started on 20,000 of those.
This month, 100 houses are ready for housewarming. In ITDA areas, 9,200 houses were approved for Chenchu tribes. In cities like Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, and Nalgonda, four-storey buildings will be built due to limited government land for standalone homes.
