Hyderabad: T Jagga Reddy, the working president of Telangana PCC, criticized BJP leaders on Friday for lacking historical knowledge and speaking poorly about the Gandhi family. He praised Rahul Gandhi for his honesty and dedication.
During a press event at Gandhi Bhavan, Reddy highlighted the age difference between the Congress and BJP. Congress was established in 1885, while BJP started in 1980. He noted that Congress has a 100-year longer history. Key Congress figures like Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Indira Gandhi were born before India’s independence. In contrast, BJP leaders like Modi, Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, and Raghunandan Rao were born after.
Reddy urged Raghunandan Rao to learn history before criticizing Rahul Gandhi. He challenged BJP leaders on their understanding of India’s history post-independence. He reminded them that Nehru integrated 545 princely states into India and maintained Kashmir as part of the country. He accused BJP of lacking original leaders and claimed they borrowed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to boost their image.
Reddy jested that BJP needs a time machine to grasp history accurately. He accused them of having no clear agenda and relying on Congress’s legacy for political survival. He praised the new committees for their focus on social justice and wished for Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s inclusion in Congress’ PAC.
Reddy expressed contentment with any role in Congress, stating he would even be happy working as an attendant at Gandhi Bhavan. He felt honored to work alongside Jana Reddy.
Addressing criticism of Revanth Reddy’s Jai Hind rally speech, he defended the passionate delivery. He claimed Raghunandan Rao misinterpreted history due to pressure from Kishan Reddy. He stressed that the sacrifices of Rahul Gandhi’s ancestors should be recognized by the youth. He encouraged learning history over relying solely on films. He praised in-charge Natarajan for his diligent work in resolving issues.
