Warangal: A police inspector has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl in Kazipet. The incident happened on October 9 but was reported only on October 22 when the girl’s parents lodged a complaint.
The accused, Inspector M Ravi Kumar, works in Hyderabad but lives in Kazipet. He and the 16-year-old girl live in the same apartment building.
The trouble began when Ravi Kumar saw the girl talking with her classmate in the corridor of their apartment. He threatened her to send her friend away and asked the girl to come to his flat. Once inside, he allegedly misbehaved with her and took her to his bedroom.
The girl raised an alarm when Ravi Kumar tried to touch her inappropriately. She managed to escape and told her parents about the incident. At the time of the assault, Ravi Kumar was alone in his flat.
The Kazipet police have registered a case against the inspector and are investigating the matter. Sub-inspector V Lavan Kumar confirmed the details of the incident.
