Hyderabad is experiencing disruptions in internet and TV services as the local electricity department removes tangled cables from poles. This decision follows an incident in Ramanthapur.
For the next 10 days, a special operation will focus on removing these wires throughout Greater Hyderabad. Since the start of the initiative, thousands of cable TV and fiber network wires have been taken down, affecting service availability.
The department aims to finish this task before the Ganesh immersion event in Hyderabad. Senior officials will oversee progress to ensure timely completion.
Additionally, the Telangana government has urged a quicker rollout of underground electricity cables in the city.
Cable operators and fiber network providers strongly oppose this action, fearing it may lead to widespread internet service outages in Hyderabad.
