Hyderabad – Mahadev Vidrohi, Managing Trustee of the All India Sarva Seva Sangh, has demanded a judicial probe into alleged land irregularities under the former Bhoodan Yajna Board Chairman, Gunna Rajender Reddy.
Speaking at a press conference held at Deshodharaka Bhavan on Wednesday, Vidrohi urged the government to appoint a sitting High Court judge to lead the investigation. He accused the former leadership of misusing Bhoodan lands, which were originally donated to help the landless poor.
Joining him were Vedire Aravinda Reddy, National President of the All India Sarvodaya Mandali, State President Tolupunuri Krishna Goud, along with Vedire Promotis Chandra Reddy and Dr. Vedire Pramod Chandra Reddy.
The group called on the Congress-led Telangana government to release the findings of the CB-CID’s investigation into the illegal land grabs that allegedly took place during the previous administration.
They stressed that thousands of acres of Bhoodan land had been wrongfully seized and must now be reclaimed by the state.
Vidrohi and others insisted that these lands be redistributed to farmers, laborers, Dalits, and other underprivileged communities without delay.
They emphasized that the original purpose of the Bhoodan movement, led by Acharya Vinoba Bhave, was to uplift the poor through land ownership. According to the speakers, this mission has been distorted by corrupt practices and must be restored through government action.
The activists urged immediate and transparent steps to return the lands to those in need, ensuring justice and honoring the spirit of the Bhoodan movement.
