Investigations into the alleged involvement of the arrested top HMDA official Balakrishna in land sales of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) are moving slowly. The government is also looking into the misuse of public funds in the Formula E race.

ACB officials are looking into Balakrishna’s misuse of power during his time as HMDA Director (Planning). They found documents and assets disproportionate to his income during raids at his home.

The ACB has questioned Balakrishna about the land sales within HMDA limits and favors given to influential BRS leaders during land auctions and layouts.

The ACB is still gathering information and preparing a report on the land issues. No decision has been made yet to take action against those who broke rules in purchasing lands in the HMDA limits to avoid paying taxes.

The government has not taken action regarding the misuse of Rs 55 crore by the MA&UD department under former Secretary Arvind Kumar in the previous BRS government. The department released money to the Formula E company without government consent. Legal action is being considered, but no action has been taken yet.

The government’s focus on the Lok Sabha elections may be causing delays in taking action against officials and influential leaders involved in the alleged HMDA land sales and Formula E race scams. Authorities are working on a report, which is expected to take more time.
