On World Environment Day, the Moinabad Municipality introduced a new initiative in Chilkur with the Gandipet Welfare Society NGO. This effort focuses on waste management in areas near Usman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs.
Rajashree Pinnamaneni, a member of the society, emphasized their work in handling wet, dry, and refuse waste from local municipalities to safeguard the environment.
A new waste processing unit has been established in Chilkur, close to Gandipet, to address pollution caused by improper dumping near a government site. The society collaborated with Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited to transform the land into a park and send waste to a waste-to-energy plant in Jawahar Nagar.
On June 5, they organized a cleanup and tree-planting activity to mark the beginning of operations at this new facility.
