Hyderabad: T Jagga Reddy, working president of the Telangana PCC, has stepped up to help a young girl who has been bedridden for nine years due to a serious illness. He donated Rs 3 lakh and promised to support her medical treatment at a local corporate hospital. The Gandhi Bhavan media team informed Reddy about the girl’s situation after her family shared their struggles with the media.
The girl, Sushma, hails from Penugonda village in Kesamudram mandal, Mahbubabad district. At the age of nine, during the Dasara festival, she accidentally ate a chapati laced with ant poison at her grandmother’s house, which caused her serious health issues.
Sushma’s father, Mahesh, has been unable to afford treatment at expensive hospitals due to financial constraints. Upon hearing their plight, Reddy reached out to Mahesh, promising full support. He contacted Dr. Chandrasekhar to ensure all necessary medical tests are conducted to find a treatment that could help Sushma walk again.
Reddy mentioned he would provide additional financial aid if surgery or advanced treatment is needed. He also plans to discuss with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to ensure the government covers all medical expenses. He encouraged others to assist in Sushma’s recovery.
