Hyderabad: On Friday, T Jagga Reddy, who is the Telangana PCC working president, announced that his wife, Nirmala Jagga Reddy, will be the Congress candidate for Sangareddy in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Reddy declared this decision during Dasara celebrations in Sangareddy town. He said, “I am giving her all responsibilities. I assure you, Congress is in power, and I will discuss with CM Revanth Reddy to ensure all necessary development in Sangareddy. I won’t participate in Assembly elections for the next decade.”
Addressing the people, Reddy highlighted his efforts as an MLA. “You elected me three times. I’ve worked hard for you, bringing drinking water and establishing IIT among many projects. If I start listing them, it would take too long,” he noted. He also mentioned, “I will run for Sangareddy again after ten years.”
Reddy emphasized that there is no rush for the elections, which are three years away. He praised Nirmala’s dedication and explained, “She responds to calls even at midnight. I declare her as the next MLA candidate. I’ll stay behind the scenes, attend festivals, and ensure work is done. At 59, I plan to contest again from Sangareddy in ten years.”
He assured voters that he will work with the current Congress government, led by CM Revanth Reddy, to complete all necessary projects. “You can contact me anytime. If it’s Jagga Reddy, work gets done. I’ll speak to the CM for Sangareddy’s development,” he promised.
Reddy also mentioned Cheriyala Anjaneyulu, who deserves a chance for his hard work during challenging times. He introduced Koon Santu as the candidate for the next Sangareddy municipal chairman, encouraging people to approach him for any needs.
On a personal note, Reddy shared life lessons with the youth. He advised his son to drive safely, not exceeding 70 km/h, and cautioned against speeding, which leads to tragedies. He urged young people to prioritize safety and avoid speeding, especially on the ORR.
Reddy also warned against substance abuse, advising youth to stay away from drugs and alcohol to avoid health issues and not to disappoint their parents. He encouraged them to live responsibly and not become a burden to their families.
