Hyderabad: A woman named Amani from Sadashivpet, who comes from a poor background, received help from T Jagga Reddy, the working president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC). He gave her Rs 10 lakh to help pay for cancer treatment.
On Tuesday, Jagga Reddy visited Amani’s house to meet her and offer support. Amani shared that she had already borrowed Rs 7 lakh for her treatment and was struggling to survive after the death of her husband. Living with her two daughters, she said she had even thought of ending her life due to the pain and financial stress, but was holding on for the sake of her children. Moved by her story, Reddy gave her financial assistance on the spot.
Jagga Reddy praised Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s decision to start cancer screening programs, calling it a good step. He said that he usually does not talk about his charity work or take pictures, but decided to share this story so more people would become aware of such issues.
He also urged donors to come forward and help poor cancer patients like Amani. Reddy said he would inform the Chief Minister about the real struggles poor people face when dealing with serious illnesses like cancer.
