Hyderabad – Former MLA T Jagga Reddy has strongly criticized BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) for making harsh remarks about the Gandhi family. He demanded that KCR issue an unconditional apology for his comments.
Jagga Reddy, who is also the Working President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), reminded KCR that Telangana became a state only because of the consistent support and sacrifices of the Gandhi family.
He pointed out that Sonia Gandhi played a crucial role in approving the formation of Telangana. “Without her decision, KCR wouldn’t have become Chief Minister,” Reddy said. “It’s shocking that KCR now calls the original Gandhi family ‘duplicate’. How can he forget their role?”
Jagga Reddy also questioned KCR’s continued absence from Assembly sessions, even though he is the Leader of the Opposition. He accused KCR of avoiding the Assembly because he fears facing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
“He’s scared of being exposed,” Reddy said. “If KCR has the courage, let him come to the Assembly and debate with Revanth Reddy. That will be a session the entire state wants to see.”
According to Reddy, KCR’s recent statements show his frustration over losing power and his struggle to stay relevant in politics. He recalled how the Congress party supported KCR during the Telangana movement, especially during tough times.
Reddy emphasized that it was the Congress that gave KCR the encouragement he needed during his political hunger strike. “He should not forget who stood by him when he needed support,” Reddy added.
The TPCC leader urged KCR to reflect on the past and recognize the Congress party’s role in both his rise and the creation of Telangana.
