Hyderabad: On Wednesday, MNR Auditorium in the city hosted the Orientation Day 2025 for first-year B.Tech students from J.B. Institute of Engineering & Technology (JBIET) and Bhaskar Engineering College (BEC). This event aimed to introduce students to the academic culture, learning processes, and various opportunities available at the institutions, marking the start of their professional journey. Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), attended as the Chief Guest, and HG Sonar Gauranga Das from ISKCON, Hyderabad, was the Guest of Honor.

J.V. Krishna Rao, Secretary of JBES, highlighted the growth of JBES over 26 years, discussing its academic achievements, infrastructure development, and the JB Institute of Inventors Association of India. He welcomed new students, emphasizing their participation in national-level sports and co-curricular activities. In his keynote speech, Prof. V. Balakista Reddy encouraged students to embrace curiosity, critical thinking, and innovation to tackle global challenges. He stressed the importance of digital technology and regular attendance for success, advising students to follow the academic calendar closely for career growth.

HG Sonar Gauranga Das inspired students with a talk on ethics, values, and holistic development. Prof. Ch. Sanjay, Director of JBES, discussed the global attributes of engineers, emphasizing the need for technical excellence, cross-cultural awareness, and industry readiness.

Dr. P.C. Krishnamachary, Principal of JBIET; Dr. Sumagna Patnaik, Principal of BEC; the Principal of Bhaskar Engineering College; and Sri. Vijay Rao, Campus Administrator of JBGEI, also addressed the gathering. The event included sessions on anti-ragging by Dr. J. Kartigeyen, career readiness and placements by Dr. Md. Asif, entrepreneurship opportunities by Dr. Anoop Kumar Shukla, and examination guidelines by Dr. P. Srinivasa Rao. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Md. Salauddin, Dean of Academics, JBIET. The day welcomed new students into the JBES family, setting the stage for their academic and personal growth.
