Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) has formed a new partnership with the Knowledge Foundation in Reutlingen, Germany, and the University of Kassel.
On Sunday, JNTUH Vice-Chancellor Prof T Kishen Kumar Reddy announced this collaboration as a big step forward for student opportunities. He, along with Dr. K. Venkateshwara Rao, Registrar, traveled to Germany to assess the facilities after being invited by the German universities.
During their visit, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Kassel, represented by Prof. Dr. Dirk Dahlhaus. This agreement will foster joint research, student and faculty exchange, and the development of double-degree master’s programs.
The JNTUH team engaged in detailed discussions with many scholars and officials, including Prof. Dr.-Ing. B. Markert from RWTH Aachen University, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gunther Starke and Prof. Dr. Alexander Ferrein from FH Aachen, Prof. Dr. Bertram Lohmüller from Steinbeis University, Dr. Arnold Spitta, former DAAD Director, and Stephan Jammit, Academic Consultant.
They also visited the Mercedes-Benz facility to observe industry-academia collaborations in action.
The discussions centered on building research alliances, faculty training, and curriculum development.
The new programs include an Integrated International B.Tech & M.Tech Program with Reutlingen University and a Double Degree Master of Science Program (DDMSP) with the University of Kassel. Applications for the 2025-26 academic year are now open. Interested students can check the university’s website for more information.
