    Hyderabad: Professor V. Balakista Reddy, the Vice-Chancellor In-Charge of JNTU Hyderabad (JNTUH), recently delivered an insightful lecture on the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). This session was designed to help postgraduate students in technical fields better understand the significance of IPR in today’s world.

    During the lecture, Professor Reddy highlighted how global organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) play a crucial role in shaping regulations related to intellectual property rights. Their influence ensures that IPR policies are consistent and effective across the globe.

    He also provided detailed information about the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which was established in 1967. In particular, he focused on Article 2 of WIPO and its implications.

    Professor Reddy explained the evolution of intellectual property laws through different historical milestones. He discussed how intellectual property has been shaped by the social revolution of the 18th century, the political revolution of the 19th century, the technological and scientific revolutions of the 20th century, and the ongoing digital and knowledge revolutions of the 21st century.
