New Delhi/Hyderabad: The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 is speeding up its work to submit its report to Parliament during the upcoming sessions.

This urgency comes as there has been a lot of controversy in different states. State Waqf Boards have been issuing notices claiming ownership of agricultural land, urban areas, and religious properties that belong to other religious communities.

According to sources, the JPC is holding a two-day meeting on Monday and Tuesday. Among those attending is Mahbubnagar MP D K Aruna, along with other members.
