    Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice DY Chandrachud recently emphasized the importance of mentoring young lawyers and colleagues on the bench. He spoke at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new building of the Telangana High Court in Rajendranagar.

    Justice Chandrachud shared how he was mentored by senior advocates early in his career, emphasizing the importance of always being prepared and prioritizing the course of justice over personal success. He also highlighted the reputation that lawyers build based on their honesty and integrity.

    The CJI stressed the need for mentoring in the legal profession, noting that young lawyers often lack guidance from senior members of the Bar. He urged judges to take an active role in mentoring both young lawyers and their fellow judges on the bench.

    In addition to mentoring, Justice Chandrachud discussed the importance of inclusive infrastructure in the judiciary. He emphasized the need for facilities that cater to diverse groups in society, such as women, individuals with disabilities, and young mothers.

    The new High Court building in Telangana, which is being constructed on 100 acres of land, is expected to cost Rs 500 crores. The complex will include courtrooms, judges’ chambers, administrative offices, libraries, and modern technology to enhance judicial processes and efficiency.
