Nagarkurnool: Shiva Kumar, the President of Swami Vivekananda Seva Brundam from Kalwakurthy town, has received the National Youth Award. The award ceremony took place at the Parliament in Delhi, where Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, presented the honor.
Only 12 people across India were chosen for this award for the year 2022–23. Shiva Kumar was the only recipient from both Telugu-speaking states, making it a proud moment for Telangana.
Shiva Kumar has been working for the community for the past 13 years. He has focused on areas such as creating environmental awareness, empowering young people, helping the underprivileged, and supporting farmers. His online initiative, ‘Shiva Agri Clinic,’ has played a big role in these efforts.
His work in spreading awareness about social issues and promoting organ donation also helped him earn this national award.
The award ceremony was a grand event held at the Parliament. His contributions were praised publicly during the occasion.
Several important people attended the event, including the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse, National Youth and Sports Secretary Rajeev Lochan, and Joint Secretary Nitish Kumar Mishra.
