Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the working president of the BRS, stated that the people of Karnataka celebrated Diwali without electricity and asked them to choose between power and Congress.

Rao addressed the Telangana Builders Association in Hyderabad and mentioned that land value in Hyderabad has increased significantly over the past decade, thanks to Chief Minister KCR’s leadership. He emphasized that stable government and strong leadership have played a crucial role in the development of the state. Referring to the power cuts in Karnataka during Diwali, Rao urged people to decide whether they want electricity or Congress.

Rao also highlighted the prevalence of Naxalism during the Congress government in Telangana. He criticized Congress for failing to provide water, jobs, social and economic security, which led some individuals to join Naxalism. Rao emphasized that while Rahul Gandhi and PM Narendra Modi view Telangana as one among 28 states, BRS considers Telangana as the sole state. He stressed that BRS wants Telangana to succeed, not just win elections in the state.

Addressing the issue of Musi River beautification, Rao pointed out that it was Congress’ incompetence that led to its poor condition. He emphasized that Hyderabad is the economic engine of Telangana, contributing 45-50% of the state’s revenue, and any hindrance to its growth will affect the entire state.

Rao acknowledged the challenges faced due to COVID-19, causing a two-year setback and significant losses. However, he highlighted that development in the state continued under CM KCR’s leadership. He emphasized that in six and a half years, BRS government achieved major development which Congress couldn’t accomplish in six decades. Rao reiterated his previous statement from 2014, encouraging people to buy land in Telangana and not sell it. He assured that the current development in Hyderabad is just the beginning and there is more to come in the future.

Regarding future plans for Hyderabad, Rao mentioned the development of a new Hyderabad between the Outer Ring Road and Regional Ring Road. He highlighted that the Regional Ring Road, spanning 330 km, will connect various areas including Bhongir, Choutuppal, Shadnagar, and Sangareddy. He compared it to Beijing’s five ring roads and announced the government’s intention to build another ring road to improve commuting to Hyderabad. Rao also promised to ensure daily water supply in the next term and eventually achieve 24-hour water supply.
