Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha strongly criticized the recent notice sent to K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) regarding the Kaleshwaram project, calling it a planned political attack aimed at damaging his reputation.
She defended the project, saying it was designed to benefit farmers and future generations, not to serve political interests. According to her, the current government is reversing Telangana’s progress. She praised KCR as a leader who worked tirelessly to turn dry lands into fertile farms, accusing the present administration of lacking vision and targeting him unfairly.
“No government driven by revenge can erase KCR’s contribution,” Kavitha said. “The truth will come out, and history will recognize who truly served the people and who tried to bring them down.”
Palle Ravi Kumar Goud, former chairman of the Telangana State Toddy Tappers Corporation, also condemned the notice. He called the move part of a larger political conspiracy to damage KCR’s image.
He urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his Cabinet to stop focusing on targeting political rivals. Instead, he said they should concentrate on fulfilling the promises made to the people of Telangana. Ignoring public needs for political games, he warned, would lead the current government into a political downfall.
The controversy around the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project continues to stir strong reactions from BRS leaders, who see it as a symbol of development and a legacy of KCR’s leadership.
