Rahul Gandhi’s comment about giving Telangana has drawn criticism from BRS MLC K Kavitha. She stated that the only connection the Gandhi family has with Telangana is one of betrayal and lies. MLC Kavitha explained that in the past, the Gandhi family’s actions towards Telangana were marked by betrayal and hindrance. She mentioned that Jawaharlal Nehru merged Telangana with Andhra Pradesh against the wishes of its people in the 1950s, and Indira Gandhi’s denial of a separate Telangana in 1969 led to the loss of 369 lives due to police firing. Additionally, Sonia Gandhi went back on the formation of Telangana after its announcement, resulting in further loss of lives.
