Hyderabad: On Tuesday, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha made a notable move by establishing the Singareni branch of Telangana Jagruti. This decision came a day after her meeting with an emissary of party president K Chandrashekar Rao.
Kavitha appointed coordinators for 11 coal belt regions of Singareni Collieries at her home. She explained that the new unit, Singareni Jagruti, aims to support the Telangana Gani Boggu Karmikula Sangham (TGBKS) and focus on the well-being of Singareni workers.
Workers from all 11 areas attended the meeting. Kavitha highlighted the challenges workers face, particularly in education and healthcare, and pledged to address these issues. She accused the Congress government of trying to dismantle the Singareni organization through corruption and vowed to fight against it. She noted that over 40,000 workers are employed there, with a significant number being young people.
Party leaders expressed concern about potential conflicts between party units due to the new establishment in Singareni. Insiders revealed that Kavitha is determined to clarify her future role within the party and views this initiative as a demonstration of her influence. She reportedly informed KCR’s representatives that she will persist with her efforts until her party role is clearly defined.
During the meeting, Kavitha insisted on renovating Singareni schools to implement the CBSE syllabus. She also urged for free medical care for workers and their families in corporate hospitals. Additionally, she called for improved facilities in labor colonies and an immediate resolution to the drinking water issues.
