The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced the implementation of a one-way traffic system around KBR Park with effect from 18th August 2026. The new traffic arrangement aims to facilitate smoother and safer movement of vehicles in the area, which is known for heavy traffic congestion during peak hours. The traffic police have requested all commuters to familiarize themselves with the new route system and cooperate during the transition period.
Under the new system, a clockwise one-way traffic movement will be enforced around the entire KBR Park perimeter. The traffic police have made it clear that no right turns will be permitted at designated locations along the route. Additionally, no U-turns will be allowed within the one-way system to ensure continuous flow of traffic. To facilitate smooth movement between different lanes, lane-change points will be provided at specific designated locations, allowing vehicles to move between Lane 1 and Lane 2 as needed.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police have urged all commuters to carefully study the KBR Route Guide before traveling through the area. Motorists are advised to follow all traffic signs and directions provided by Traffic Police personnel who will be deployed along the route to assist during the initial implementation phase. The authorities have acknowledged that the new system may take some time to settle and have requested commuters to plan their journeys in advance and use alternate routes wherever possible.
The traffic police emphasized that the initiative is part of their ongoing efforts towards achieving smoother traffic flow, safer roads, and better traffic management in Hyderabad. Commuters have been requested to extend their full cooperation during the transition period as the city adapts to the new traffic pattern around one of its most prominent landmarks. The authorities will monitor the implementation closely to ensure minimal inconvenience to the public while achieving the intended traffic management objectives.
