Hyderabad: BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) Chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) said that the party’s silver jubilee celebration and public gathering on April 27 will bring a big change to politics in Telangana.
KCR held a six-hour meeting with party leaders from Warangal at his farmhouse in Eravelli on Tuesday. He asked the leaders to hold planning meetings with local members to make sure the event is a success. Each of the 12 constituencies in Warangal district has been asked to bring one lakh (100,000) people to the event.
“This isn’t just a public meeting, it’s about making Telangana better,” KCR said. “People now understand the difference between BRS and Congress. If you stay connected with the people, we will win.”
The Warangal leaders thanked KCR for giving them the responsibility of organizing the silver jubilee event. They said they had successfully held large gatherings before, even during the Telangana movement. This time, the meeting will be held on 1,213 acres of land at Elkathurthi near Warangal. Out of this, 154 acres will be used for the main event, while 1,059 acres will be used for parking around 50,000 vehicles.
The leaders said the event, called the Maha Sabha, would be held on a grand scale. BRS workers, fans of KCR, and supporters of Telangana from across the state are expected to attend. To support the crowd, 10 lakh packets of buttermilk and 10 lakh bottles of water will be distributed. Around 1,500 volunteers will help with traffic and other arrangements. Emergency medical services and ambulances will also be available.
Warangal leaders said their district has played a big role in organizing peaceful protests during the Telangana movement, led by KCR. They are confident they will make this event a huge success, just like the major rallies held in the past.
They also said that KCR has always stood by Telangana and helped it grow. They recalled many development programs carried out in Warangal during the BRS government’s 10 years in power.
