    Leaders from around the world have congratulated King Charles III and Queen Camilla on their coronation ceremony on Saturday. US President Joe Biden praised the “enduring friendship” between the US and the UK, and said that his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, attended the ceremony as a proud representative of their country. Chinese President Xi Jinping called for a “stable and mutually beneficial” relationship between China and the UK, while European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called the coronation “a testament to the enduring strength of the British monarchy.” German Chancellor Olaf Scholz welcomed King Charles III’s commitment to tackling climate change and advancing cooperation between the UK and the EU. French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and the foreign ministry in Greece also sent their congratulations.

    The coronation ceremony was held at Westminster Abbey in London, where King Charles III and Queen Camilla participated in a pageant-filled procession. The Italian prime minister noted the symbolism of the rare mosaic floor of Westminster Abbey’s “Cosmati pavement,” which was masterfully created to amaze the world and recall the historic cooperation between Italy and the UK. The foreign ministry in Greece, where Prince Philip was born, also congratulated King Charles III and expressed its hope for continuing excellent cooperation and deepening bilateral historic relations.
