Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transferred Rs 2,000 crore into the accounts of 10 crore farmers through the PM Kisan Samman Yojana. Speaking at the OBC Morcha protest at Dharna Chowk on Saturday, he criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for making inappropriate remarks.

Reddy mentioned that the Chief Minister called the Prime Minister a “converted BC.” He questioned how someone joining the BC community could be labeled as such, noting that in 1971, the Lambada community joined the STs. He stressed that mere words don’t equate to heroism and that people don’t forgive those who mislead them. Reddy stated, “People are watching all parties and leaders. This is why, in the last parliamentary elections, out of every 100 voters, 37 supported the saffron flag in Telangana. Revanth Reddy should understand this.”

Reddy criticized the Congress party for promising, during the Kamareddy Declaration, to provide 42% reservation for BCs within 100 days of taking power. He pointed out that even after two years, BC reservations remain unresolved, and Congress blames the BJP-led central government for their incompetence.

He further argued that the 42% reservation proposed by Congress benefits Muslims for political gains rather than BCs. He noted that Telangana had 34% reservation in local body elections under previous BRS governance and criticized CM KCR for pushing a 12% reservation for Muslims, which he claims doesn’t truly benefit them. Reddy highlighted that KCR reduced BC reservations from 34% to 23%. He questioned whether the 34% reservation for BCs has increased or decreased, emphasizing no progress. He warned that if 10% is taken from the proposed 42% for Muslims, only 32% remains for BCs, making the new law disadvantageous.

Reddy urged the Congress party to sincerely implement the full 42% reservation for BCs, warning that any deception won’t go unnoticed. On behalf of the BJP, he declared it unfair to allocate 32% while undermining BCs, insisting that the full 42% should be granted. He accused Congress leaders of spreading false propaganda and seeking attention by protesting in Delhi. Reddy highlighted the BJP’s achievements, noting they have had a BC as Prime Minister for 11 consecutive years and granted constitutional status to the BC Commission, empowering it significantly. He questioned if Congress ever appointed a BC as Prime Minister or Chief Minister despite numerous opportunities, stating, “The Congress party has no moral right to criticize the BJP.” He also mentioned that the British conducted a caste census before independence.
