Kishan vows to safeguard SCCL’s interests

Hyderabad: Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, stated that both the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government share responsibility in protecting the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and its workers. He assured that the Centre is not working against the interests of SCCL and its workers, addressing concerns raised by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka during the 10th round of launching commercial coal blocks auction in Hyderabad.

Kishan Reddy acknowledged the challenges faced by SCCL and promised to discuss the issues with ministry officials, SCCL, and workers to find a solution that benefits the organization. He emphasized that resolving the allocation issue of the Naini coal block in Odisha, which has potential benefits for SCCL, will be a priority.

The coal block auctions have been implemented as per Supreme Court judgement and guidelines to promote transparency and increase coal production for economic growth, Kishan Reddy explained. He highlighted the need to strengthen SCCL, similar to Coal India Limited, by collaborating with the state government and center for the benefit of the organization and its employees.

In response to accusations from Congress and BRS, Kishan Reddy emphasized the importance of prioritizing SCCL and its worker’s interests over political affiliations. He highlighted the government’s efforts to introduce a transparent system for coal block auctions, ensuring fairness and efficiency in the process.
