Nalgonda: On Saturday, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the Minister for Roads, Buildings, and Cinematography, emphasized that economic growth for women is crucial for societal progress. He inaugurated a new Women Shakti petrol station near SLBC Colony in Nalgonda, part of a joint project by the District Women’s Federation and Indian Oil Corporation, costing Rs 5 crore.
In 2004, the minister helped secure Rs 15 crore in loans for Self-Help Groups and highlighted ongoing government support for women through initiatives like free electricity, free bus services, Indiramma housing, and subsidized rice. This new petrol station will feature EV charging, a café, and a supermarket, poised for success due to its prime location.
SERP CEO Divya Devarajan mentioned that Rs 20,000 crore in loans are being provided to SHGs across the state. Collector Ila Tripathi noted this is the third petrol station run by women in Nalgonda, with more planned.
