Hyderabad: For several months, the PCC Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) has been addressing conflicts among leaders in Warangal. Former MLC Konda Murali recently pledged his full support for the upcoming local elections, easing tensions with his party critics for now.
Murali, husband of Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, met the committee to explain his past comments about Warangal Congress leaders. Previously, he had responded to the committee but was asked for a written explanation due to the controversy his remarks caused.
After his recent meeting, Murali expressed strong loyalty to the Congress Party, stating, “Congress is in my blood.” He promised to follow party directions and aimed to support Rahul Gandhi in becoming Prime Minister. He emphasized teamwork among party members for the local elections and confirmed he had addressed all committee questions.
PCC Disciplinary Committee Chairman Mallu Ravi explained that their talks focused on Warangal leader disputes and issues with Jedcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy. Ravi confirmed that Murali and other involved MLAs provided written explanations.
In late June, the committee issued a notice to Murali for his public comments against Congress leaders after complaints from Warangal district MPs, MLAs, and leaders. Murali visited Gandhi Bhavan on June 28 to meet Committee Chairman Mallu Ravi and other members, where he verbally explained his stance.
The committee then requested a written response. In July, Murali responded, making counterclaims against rivals Naini Rajender Reddy, Errabelli Swarna, Kadiyam Srihari, Baswaraju Saraiah, Revuri Prakash Reddy, Gandra Sathyanarayana Rao, K R Naga Raju, and Enugala Venkat Ram Reddy within the Congress.
