Hyderabad, November 14, 2025 – BJP leader Arvind Dharmapuri has expressed disappointment over the party’s performance in the Jubilee Hills by-election, where BJP finished a distant third.
“A Depressing Result”
Dharmapuri described the result as “depressing for all BJP Karyakartas,” stating that Jubilee Hills was a seat the party “could have won or at least come close second.”
“Why is the entire nation voting one way and Telangana the other?” Dharmapuri questioned.
Content or Intent?
During a telephonic conversation with a media anchor who asked “what’s going wrong in Telangana – CONTENT or INTENT?”, Dharmapuri reiterated concerns he has raised previously about the party’s approach in the state.
BRS Finished, BJP vs Congress Battle Ahead
Dharmapuri stated: “BRS is finished, and it’s clear Telangana is moving to BJP versus Congress now.”
He added, “If the BJP doesn’t plan and make a concrete strategy, Congress will consolidate further in the next Assembly elections.”
Call for Strategic Planning
The BJP leader emphasized the need for a “concrete strategy” to counter Congress’s position in Telangana, particularly in urban constituencies like Jubilee Hills.
His comments come after the party’s dismal performance in the by-election, finishing behind both Congress and BRS candidates.
