The Telangana government is working to turn Kondareddypalli into a solar-powered village. This is being done under the instructions of the state’s Chief Minister, Mr. A. Revanth Reddy. The goal is to promote the use of solar energy across the state, and officials have already started a door-to-door survey in the village to move the project forward.
Kondareddypalli has been selected as a pilot project to encourage more use of solar energy in Telangana. Several top officials, including the Chairman and Managing Director of the Southern Telangana Electricity Distribution Company, Mr. Musharraf Farooqui, and the Nagar Kurnool District Collector, Mr. B. Santosh, visited the village. Other important officials like Mrs. Anila from REDCO and Director Mr. K. Ramulu were also part of the visit to check on the project’s progress.
During their visit, the officials spoke with local residents, farmers, and community leaders. They explained how the solar project would work. The village has about 1,451 energy users, including 499 households, 66 businesses, and 867 agricultural users. Once the survey is finished, the required solar energy capacity for the village will be calculated, and then the project will move to the next phase.
This project is an important step in increasing the use of renewable energy in Telangana. Kondareddypalli will serve as a model for other villages and areas in the state.
