Hyderabad: The Ardee Engineering Sainik Schools Alumni Golf Tournament 2025 wrapped up on Monday in Hyderabad. This event was a milestone, as alumni from various Sainik Schools in India came together for a competitive weekend. After two days of thrilling matches, the tournament ended with an Awards Ceremony at the Boulder Hills Golf and Country Club.
Sainik School Korukonda claimed victory as the Champion School, displaying remarkable performance. Sainik School Chittorgarh earned the runner-up spot. Chandrashekhar Moturu, Chairman and Managing Director of Ardee Engineering Ltd, handed the prestigious Championship Trophy to the winners. Notably, three women golfers participated, highlighting the inclusive nature of this inaugural event.
The award ceremony attracted many, including defense and civil officers, business leaders, and golf fans. Many attendees showed interest in making this tournament an annual event, with plans to host it in different locations nationwide.
In individual honors, Lt Col Hemant Raj from Sainik School Kazhakootam was named the Overall Best Golfer of the Tournament in the Gross Category, with a score of 158. Captain (IN) Subhash Das from Sainik School Bhubaneswar followed as runner-up, scoring 166.
Top performers in the Stableford categories included:
- Platinum Category: Winner – Col Arun Kumar (Sainik School Chittorgarh) with a score of 70. Runner-up – Col Inderjeet Suhag (Sainik School Bijapur) scoring 69.
- Diamond Category: Winner – Commander S Gangadhar (Sainik School Korukonda) with 74. Runner-up – Colonel T Sambaiah (Sainik School Korukonda) with 73.
- Gold Category: Winner – Col (Dr) Rakesh Kumar (Sainik School Tilaiya) with a score of 76. Runner-up – Capt Sanjay Kumar (Sainik School Tilaiya) with 74.
Brig D V Singh (Retd), Director of Stalwarts Golf, thanked everyone for the event’s success, stating, “This event, filled with camaraderie, competition, and celebration, has set a new benchmark for alumni golf in India. We are eager to continue this momentum into the next edition.”
