Crypto exchange Kraken is now offering commission-free trading for over 11,000 US listed stocks and ETFs. The service is currently available for users in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Alabama, with a full US rollout planned in the near future. Users can now manage stocks, crypto, cash, and stablecoins all in one place through the Kraken mobile app, Kraken Pro app, or web platform. The platform also supports fractional trading on many assets, making it easier and more affordable for users to invest.

Kraken’s expansion into stock trading marks its first foray into traditional finance. This move is powered by its new regulated division, Kraken Securities LLC, which allows clients to easily buy stocks with US dollars. Kraken co-CEO Arjun Sethi believes that crypto technology will become the backbone for trading across asset classes, and that the future of trading will be borderless and 24/7. Kraken plans to expand traditional securities trading to the UK, Europe, and Australia, while introducing new features to enhance the user’s trading experience.
