The Telangana government has invested Rs 7000 crore in food processing over the last five years, according to IT and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao. The state is home to major companies such as Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, and ITC. The government is focusing on five different sectors at once, including agriculture, dairy, meat, and fisheries.
KTR inaugurated the first Food Conclave in Hyderabad, which aims to make India a one-stop destination for food production and processing. The event is expected to create 50,000 jobs for the industry. Telangana is already known as the seed bowl of India and the poultry capital of India. The government hopes to regain its position as a nutraceuticals hub in the near future.
