KTR announces Telangana’s top rank in per capita income across India

Telangana has been ranked as the number one state in India in terms of per capita income for the year 2022-23. The State Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Information Technology, K T Rama Rao, announced this news via Twitter, stating that Telangana’s per capita income has increased from Rs.1.24 lakh in 2014-15 to Rs.3.17 lakh in 2022-23. This represents a 155% growth, which is the highest among all states. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) also quoted this report.

According to MoSPI Minister of State, Rao Inderjit Singh, Telangana’s per capita income at current prices as of March 15 is Rs.3,08,732. Karnataka follows in second place with Rs.3,01,673, and Haryana is third with Rs.2,96,685. Telangana’s Finance Minister, T Harish Rao, had previously informed the state Assembly that the per capita income of Telangana is estimated to increase from Rs.1,12,162 in 2013-14 to Rs.3,17,115 in 2022-23. This is higher than the national per capita income of Rs.1,70,620 by 86%.

KTR stated that Telangana’s performance is despite an inimical union government. He also praised his state’s Chief Minister KCR Garu as the “best performing state under a visionary CM.” Telangana’s impressive growth in per capita income is a testament to the state’s focus on industries and commerce, as well as its commitment to innovation and development.
