Hyderabad: The Musi River Front Development project is the biggest scam in the country, according to BRS working president KTR. On Monday, he challenged CM Revanth Reddy to start demolitions from his own house and his relatives' homes before targeting the public. KTR questioned the government for not having a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a project that is expected to cost Rs 1.5 lakh crore.

KTR visited the Hyderguda area, where people are facing eviction threats. Speaking to the residents, he mentioned that there were no floods in the Musi River from 1920 to 2020. Even though there were floods in 2020, KTR said the then Chief Minister KCR did not allow officials to harass the people. However, he accused Congress leaders, who he claims are responsible for allowing houses to be built along the riverbank, of trying to demolish these homes now.

He also criticized Revanth Reddy, calling him an “unfit and inefficient” Chief Minister. KTR said that if all the marked houses were counted, the total property value would be around Rs 1,000 crore. He pointed out that the Namami Gange project, which covers 2,400 kilometers, was completed for Rs 40,000 crore. In contrast, the Musi River project, which covers only 55 kilometers, is being proposed at a much higher cost of Rs 1.5 lakh crore. KTR demanded that Revanth Reddy explain the return on investment for such an expensive project.

KTR also dared Revanth Reddy to demolish the houses of his brother and himself, which he claimed were built on a lake in Kodangal. He further suggested that the Chief Minister should first demolish the HYDRA Commissioner’s office and the GHMC offices, as they are located on nalas (drains).

Lastly, KTR highlighted that the BRS government had installed sewage treatment plants (STPs) to ensure 100 percent treatment of sewage in the area. When asked about BRS’s plans in the Old City, KTR said the party is waiting for a response from local public representatives. He warned that if they do not respond, BRS will move forward on its own. He also accused the BJP of supporting Congress in what he called their scams.
