Hyderabad: On Monday, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao launched a strong criticism against the BJP and Congress, alleging that they are working together to tarnish the image of BRS President K Chandrashekar Rao by spreading false information about the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project.
Rama Rao stated, “The BJP and Congress aim to annoy KCR garu. Their focus is not on governance but on revenge.” He explained that the Kaleshwaram project was not just one person’s decision but a collective policy made by the Telangana Cabinet at the time. “Even former ministers like Eatala Rajender and Harish Rao have confirmed it was a government-approved project. The administration, not individuals, executed it, ensuring everything was transparent,” he added.
Rama Rao encouraged people to watch Harish Rao’s detailed presentation. “Anyone who sees Harish’s explanation can grasp the project’s significance and benefits. He made it as simple as peeling a banana,” said KTR.
He further stated, “If a leader in another country had completed such a massive project, bringing irrigation to 45 lakh acres in four years, they would be celebrated in national history. Such achievements would earn global recognition. Unfortunately, in our country, this historic project is used for political attacks.”
KTR criticized investigation notices as politically driven harassment. “These notices are mere distractions. Harish Rao has already presented all the facts to the commission. There’s nothing new for KCR to address,” KTR asserted. He pointed out that KCR achieved in four years what Congress couldn’t in decades, highlighting that while Congress took decades for projects like Bhakra Nangal, Nagarjuna Sagar, Narmada, and SRSP, KCR completed Kaleshwaram swiftly.
Attacking the Congress under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, KTR said, “They gained power by making 420 fake promises, betraying the public. This government is leading the state toward disaster.” He accused Revanth Reddy of using media tactics to deceive people. “Media tricks can’t hide their failures forever,” he concluded.
