Hyderabad: Top leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), including KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, visited the farmhouse of party leader K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Monday. They informed him about key points from the ongoing PC Ghose Commission inquiry.
KCR is set to meet the Kaleshwaram Commission on Wednesday. Before this meeting, he plans to visit the Telangana Bhavan for discussions with senior BRS members and prepare necessary documents for the Commission.
On Monday, after attending the Commission session at BRKR Bhavan, Harish Rao and KTR went to KCR’s farmhouse in Eravelli. They updated KCR on the inquiry’s progress, emphasizing significant discussions.
Harish Rao explained the Commission’s query about relocating the project site from Tummidihetti to Medigadda. He cited Maharashtra's lack of approval due to village submergence concerns and mentioned that the Central Water Commission (CWC) suggested exploring other sites due to water availability issues.
Additionally, Harish Rao mentioned the Commission’s questions about changing reservoir locations at Sundilla and Annaram. He noted that while some Congress leaders criticized the project, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy initiated the Gandamalla project, relying on water from the Mallannasagar project, a vital part of Kaleshwaram. He stated, “Kaleshwaram is a lifeline for Telangana. People recognize its significance. All statements to the Commission were supported by evidence, like Cabinet decisions, Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited (WAPCOS) reports, and CWC letters.”
BRS leaders emphasized that Kaleshwaram was a Cabinet decision, not an individual one. Following Eatala Rajender and Harish, it is now KCR’s turn to present his case. It will be intriguing to see the Commission’s questions for KCR on Wednesday, as party members noted his deep knowledge of the project, monitored daily, even through CCTV footage.
