    BRS working president and former minister KTR criticized the Congress party for encouraging party defections. KTR, along with BRS Party leaders Harishrao and Suresh Reddy, accused the Congress party of starting the culture of party defections even before 2014.

    KTR mentioned that the Congress party has a history of encouraging party defections and pointed out the numerous defections that have occurred in Andhra Pradesh, attributing them to the Congress party. He emphasized that despite the people of united Andhra Pradesh giving power to Congress nine times, the party still engaged in such practices.

    In Telangana, KTR criticized the Congress party for promising to implement certain guarantees to come to power but then proceeding to lure away six Bharasa MLAs, six MLCs, and a Rajya Sabha member from his party. This criticism comes in the midst of ongoing political turmoil in the state, with several leaders switching sides in recent months.

    KTR also took a swipe at the Congress party for their inconsistent stance on party defections and mentioned that they would seek appointments with the president and Lok Sabha Speaker to address the issue.
