Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has declared that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the real competition for his party in Telangana, dismissing the ruling Congress as a significant political force. In a recent interaction, KTR stated that the Congress party will be reduced to the third position in the state, signaling a major shift in the political landscape. He also confirmed that BRS will contest future elections independently without any alliances.

Addressing questions about Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, KTR clarified that he holds no personal grudges against him but criticized his leadership style. He stated that Revanth Reddy’s governance would discourage people from voting for Congress for the next 15 years. The BRS leader also responded to the Meenakshi Natrajan issue, questioning why the party’s internal problems were being imposed on BRS. He suggested that if the Congress demands a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for everything, they should set up one for this matter as well.

On the topic of Hyderabad and governance, KTR defended his party’s record in managing the state capital. He questioned why people would have voted for BRS if they had damaged Hyderabad, pointing out that the Congress did not hand over the city in perfect condition. He criticized the narrative around rainwater stagnation, stating that whether water stagnates or not, the opposition creates a negative narrative. KTR accused Revanth Reddy of lacking understanding of Hyderabad city and its unique challenges.

The BRS leader further criticized the Chief Minister for being carried away with slogans about creating a “Future City” while failing to address existing problems in Hyderabad. KTR emphasized that the current government is more focused on rhetoric than on solving real issues faced by residents of the city. He maintained that BRS had worked consistently on developing Hyderabad during their tenure and that the city’s progress speaks for itself.

KTR reiterated that BRS will fight the upcoming elections on its own strength without seeking any political partnerships. He expressed confidence that the party’s track record and the perceived failures of the current Congress government would work in their favor. The BRS Working President maintained that the political battle in Telangana would primarily be between his party and the BJP, with Congress becoming increasingly irrelevant in state politics.
