BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly reiterated that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will never ally with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that the party stands firmly by its secular values.
Speaking during an interview on November 5, amid his campaign for the Jubilee Hills by-election, KTR stated, “We are secular, and we will remain secular till death.” He emphasized that while former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) built the Yadadri temple, he “never did politics in the name of religion.” He even said that, when Secretariat was demolished for reconstruction, KCR, without anyone saying, asked for the construction of a Mandir, Masjid, and a New Church in it.
KTR described his father as “a spiritual Hindu but a deeply secular person.” He added, “My mind & heart prohibit me from being communal in life. Politics should unite people, not divide them.”
The BRS leader’s remarks come at a time when political polarization is dominating the Jubilee Hills campaign. His statement reaffirmed the party’s stance that it stands for inclusive governance beyond religious lines.
