Hyderabad: On Monday, BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao responded strongly to Congress leader Jairam Ramesh’s comments about political alliances in the Vice-Presidential election. He criticized the Congress party for its arrogance and entitlement, which he believes have hurt its national influence.
KTR reacted to Ramesh’s tweet that implied parties not voting were indirectly supporting the BJP. He stated the Congress is stuck in an outdated mindset of “either with us or against us.”
“Jairam Ji, this arrogance is why Congress struggles in today’s politics. Claiming ‘either with us or with them’ is outdated, as if there’s no middle ground. We are neither the B-team of Congress nor BJP. We are the A-team of the Telangana people. Focus on your own issues and spare us the drama,” KTR remarked.
KTR pointed out that Congress still views Indian politics as a two-sided fight, forcing regional parties to pick sides. “This has already reduced their relevance in most states,” he observed.
He stressed that BRS remains committed to Telangana. “Our loyalty is to the people of Telangana. We represent their welfare, dreams, and voice in Delhi, not the power struggles of national parties,” he emphasized.
The BRS leader urged Congress to think about its shrinking influence and governance failures instead of trying to undermine regional parties with “false choices.”
