Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the BRS Working President, has sent a legal notice to Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs. Rao accuses him of making false and damaging statements about him in relation to a phone-tapping issue. He demands a public apology within seven days, warning of legal actions if ignored.
The notice mentions comments made by the Union Minister during an August 8 press conference. Rao’s lawyer claims these comments were baseless and harmed Rao’s reputation, accusing Sanjay of using his position for personal attacks.
The notice criticizes the Union Minister for making accusations without proof, calling it inappropriate for someone in his role. It alleges these actions are a deliberate attempt to damage the reputation of another elected leader.
Rao’s lawyers argue that Sanjay repeatedly makes such claims for political gain and media attention. They emphasize that Rao has served in various roles since Telangana‘s formation and that these defamatory statements harm his personal and political image.
The notice also demands a written promise from Sanjay to stop making defamatory remarks against Rao or his family. It warns that any new false or malicious claims will lead to stricter legal actions.
