KTR urges Pochampally weavers to adopt Tamilnadu’s practices

Telangana Industries minister KT Rama Rao has suggested that the weavers of Pochampally should work together and follow the example of the Tirpur Textile cluster to develop and promote their famous brand in the future.

Minister KTR laid the foundation stone for several development programs in Yadadri Bhongir district today. He also inaugurated the Art Renovation Unit set up by aspiring young handloom artist Saini Bhagat.

KTR congratulated Bhagat’s team for setting up a large-scale handloom unit with the goal of protecting the handloom weavers and providing them with employment opportunities. The government will also be implementing various programs to support the development of handicrafts.

KTR criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for imposing GST on weavers, but he mentioned that the Telangana government has been able to rescue the struggling Pochampally handlooms by offering incentives. The government is dedicated to revitalizing the Pochampally handloom park and providing extensive employment opportunities to the weaving community.
