    Nagar Kurnool:
A team of scientists from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, based at the Palem Agricultural Research Center in Nagarkurnool district, visited Karwang village in Telkapally Mandal. They met with local chili farmers to discuss crop issues and provide helpful advice on managing the challenges they are facing. This year, heavy rains have led to a rise in dry root rot in chili crops in several areas. To combat this, the scientists suggested applying Copper Oxychloride or Kasugamycin (2.5 grams per liter of water). Alternatively, farmers can use 500 grams of Print or 200 ml of Tebuconazole per acre and ensure the plant roots are properly soaked.

The scientists also provided advice on protecting crops from pests. To prevent black thrips, they recommended placing 30-35 white and blue sticky traps around the crops and spraying neem oil at a rate of 500 ml per acre. For dealing with stem blight, they suggested using Custodia or Cambay Top mixed with water. Additionally, to control midge flies, they advised farmers to use Coragen at 60 ml per acre or Carbofuran at 1.6 ml per acre. They stressed the importance of preventing water stagnation in fields affected by blight, as it can worsen the problem.
