Hyderabad Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav inaugurated the Lakefront Park on Necklace Road adjacent to Jalavihar. The park was developed by HMDAm and cost Rs 26.65 crore. It covers an area of 10 acres and offers visitors a great view of the lake through elevated walkways and impressive landscapes.
The park was built at a cost of Rs 22 crore for civil and electrical works, and Rs 4.65 crore for landscape greenery. It is part of the beautification projects being carried out by HMDA around Hussainsagar.
The Lakefront Park features four elevated walkways, each 110 meters long, with a Cantilever Jetty of 15 meters for a view into the lake. There is also a 240-meter long curvilinear (wave) walkway and a 690-meter long walkway, connecting all components in the park.
The park will be open to the public from 5.30 am to 1.30 pm. The entry cost is Rs 10 for children, Rs 50 for adults, and Rs 100 per month for morning walkers.
