Suryapet police achieved a significant success by dismantling a child trafficking and illegal adoption network. They arrested 13 people and saved 10 children from different places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The arrested individuals were part of a gang that targeted low-income families. They convinced parents to give away their children under false promises of care and adoption.
These actions violated the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, 2015. The children involved were between 10 days and 10 years old.
On May 28, 2025, police conducted operations in Suryapet town, Nalgonda, Tekumatla, and Vijayawada. They rescued 7 boys and 3 girls.
The group included people from various backgrounds, such as auto drivers, housewives, nurses, and brokers, all contributing to the illegal activities. The case is registered under Cr.No. 173/2025 with sections of the JJ Act and BNS. Investigations continue, and the rescued children are now in the care of child welfare authorities for safe rehabilitation.
