Police conducted a surprise inspection at the ‘King and Queens’ Pub in KPHB, Kukatpally on Saturday midnight after receiving information that the establishment was operating beyond its permitted hours. Kukatpally DCP R. Rithiraj personally led the raid, which resulted in the arrest of nine individuals including the pub manager. The operation was part of ongoing efforts by the Telangana Police to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and maintain law and order in the city’s entertainment zones.
During the inspection, authorities discovered that the pub was not only violating time restrictions but also operating an illegally run dance floor. Police officials stated that the unauthorized dance floor was allegedly being used as a strategy to attract more customers to the establishment. Such facilities require specific permissions and licenses from municipal authorities, which the pub management had failed to obtain.
The Kukatpally Police took swift action against the violators, detaining the pub manager along with eight other staff members present at the premises during the raid. All detained individuals are currently in police custody and are expected to face legal proceedings for violations of the Excise Act and other relevant municipal regulations governing commercial entertainment establishments in Hyderabad.
The raid reflects the increased vigilance by law enforcement agencies in monitoring pubs, bars, and restaurants across the city to ensure they adhere to prescribed operational guidelines. Establishments found violating permitted operating hours or running unauthorized facilities face penalties including fines, license suspension, or permanent closure depending on the severity of the violations.
